A US$15.2 million contract for major resurfacing works of a highway bridge over the Fraser River in British Columbia, Canada, has been awarded to Kingston Construction.

Queenborough Bridge, which carries 88,000 vehicles a day between the city of New Westminster and Lulu Island, will get a major upgrade including resurfacing, repairs, drainage upgrades and replacement deck joints.

The British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Transit expects the work on the four-lane bridge to start in the spring, for completion in autumn 2027. Kingston Construction is based in Surrey, British Columbia.

Queenborough Bridge dates to 1960 and has been modified several times to meet changing safety and seismic standards.
