A joint venture consisting of Swedish company Skanska and California Engineering Contractors will take on the deck replacement of the Vincent Thomas Bridge in Los Angeles, USA.
The contractors will remove and replace the bridge deck, install new expansion joints and put in place a system to protect the structure from corrosion.

The 460m suspension bridge over Los Angeles Harbor dates to 1963 and was the USA’s first welded suspension bridge. According to Caltrans, its deck is deteriorating because of heavy traffic loading and a marine environment.
