The design contractors for the Calcasieu Bridge Improvement Project have been named.

The Calcasieu Bridge Improvement Project includes the demolition of a 1950s structure over the Calcasieu River between Lake Charles and Westlake in Louisiana, USA; and the design, build, operation and maintenance of a new 9km bridge.

The Calcasieu Design Partners, a joint venture consisting of Arcadis, Janssen and Spaans Engineering, Modjeski and Masters, and Huval will support Louisiana Bridge Builders, a construction joint venture between Acciona and Sacyr Construction, collaborating with Louisiana Department of Transportation (link opens in new tab).

The old bridge is an arched cantilever rivet-connected Warren through truss with distinctive railings decorated with crossed pistol ironwork motifs.
