Rui Costa signed the deal for the Salvador to Itaparica bridge while on a trade mission to China. Chinese company CREC will now produce an action plan and schedule for the project, which Costa said is essential for the people of Bahia.

Brazil signs agreement for 12km bridge
The governor of the Brazilian state of Bahia has signed an agreement for construction of a 12.4km bridge to the island of Itaparica.
